How does Google Voice Work?

Google Voice is a voice over IP (VoIP) service using which you can use a single number for multiple devices. With Google Voice, you can stop juggling your work, home, and cellphone number and replace them with a new, free number. You can even choose which device will be ringing when someone calls you.

It is a service created in 2009 that lets you make and receive calls, texts, and use call forwarding without any cost. Available only in the United States, Google Voice uses VoIP, which lets you make voice calls over a standard broadband internet connection. It is often used by small businesses to keep costs down, and it is also convenient for everyday users. What all you need is a good internet connection and microphone.
