  • First of all, open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
  • Then, tap on the Profile icon at the bottom-right corner to go to your profile.
  • Next, tap three horizontal line icon at the top.
  • And then, click on the setting icon at the bottom.
  • After that, in the Account section, click Privacy and security.
  • Next, in privacy tap Account privacy.
  • At last, toggle the button next to Private Account to the right. It will now turn blue.

Now your Instagram account is set to private and only people whom you will approve can see your photos and videos. Your existing followers will not be affected.
