  • Now, click on Settings from the Chrome menu.
  • When the Settings page loads up you need to scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Advanced.
  • After the list of Advanced option shows, scroll down to System section, and then click on the Open Proxy Settings option.
  • Then, Internet Properties box appears. You need to click on the LAN Settings button under the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings.
  • Next, under the Proxy Server section, click on the checkbox that says: “Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections).
  • Now, enter the Proxy Server address and the port to use. You can also click on the Advanced button to specify proxies per server type.
  • At last, click on the OK button to save changes.

Steps to Use a Proxy Server With Chrome Browser for Mac

If you are a Mac user, you can follow the steps given below to use a proxy server with Chrome:

  • First, open Google Chrome in your Mac device and click on the Chrome menu located at the top-right part of your browser’s toolbar.
  • Next, from the Chrome menu, click on Settings.
  • Now, when the Settings page loads up, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Advanced.
  • Next, the list of Advanced option appears. You need to scroll down to System section then click on the Open Proxy Settings option.
  • Then, the Network Properties shows up. Just click on the Proxies tab.
  • When you are on the Proxies tab, click on the checkbox box for Web Proxy (HTTP) and Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS).
  • Then, enter the Proxy Server address and the port you want to use. In case, if the proxy server requires a password, then click on the checkbox that says: “Proxy server requires a password” and enter the username and password.
  • Finally, click on the OK button to save changes.
