  • First, you need to go to the LinkedIn website and open the sign in page.
  • Then, click on the “Forgot Password?” link located below the “Sign In” button.
  • Next, you will see that there will be an option “Email or phone” asking an email address or phone number of your account. Here, you have to your email or phone number that you have used to register your account.
  • Now, there will be two cases:
  1. If you have an entered email address, LinkedIn will send an email message to you with a link to reset your password. In the email sent to you, click on the link provided and you will be redirected to the new page in your browser that lets you create a new password for your account. Follow the instructions given over there and you will be able to set a new password. If the link doesn’t work, just copy and paste the direct URL into the address bar of your browser.
  2. If you have entered your phone number, then you will get a call or text on the phone number you have assigned depending upon what you choose. In case, if you select the option “receive a text”, then you will receive an SMS message containing a PIN that you’ll need to enter to reset your password. If you select “receive a call” option, then you will get a call from LinkedIn on your phone number and will tell you the PIN number.

As you will get the PIN number, you have to enter that code into the appropriate fields provided on the page. Afterward, as you enter the PIN number, then you will see the next page and instruct for resetting your password.

  • Now, your LinkedIn password will be changed.

Keep in mind that, the password reset link and PIN you get from LinkedIn are valid only for a limited period of time. Make sure that you enter a strong password for the security reasons and try to remember this time.
